Kicking off the night, Venus and Ginger’s melodic singing and downtempo bass tracks were the ideal way to start the evening of music. While I only caught the tail end of the performance, the two’s soothing songs were a welcoming wave of energy and set the vibes appropriately as the sold-out venue began to fill. […]

Denver musician Jordan Polovina has more tricks up his sleeve than your favorite MC. Colorado artist and Cervantes Re:Search Wednesday resident Jordan Polovina is far beyond just a rapper. The mic torching, cello rocking 16+ year industry veteran is a part of a plethora of musical acts and has also put out a strong collection […]

Popping things off this Wednesday, Jordan Polovina warmed up the evening alternating between old and new material. A couple songs into the set, Mikey Thunder came to play and brought his fire beats for Jordan to spit over. Transitioning smoothly between songs, the two brought the funk with a healthy split of their past material […]

Opening the night, Jordan Polovina and Mikey Thunder brought the heat early on. Mikey came with a high-energy, bass heavy set that warmed up the venue nicely. Conjuring a freestyle session with Kruza Kid and Jordan, Mikey kept the beats coming while incorporating some live scratching to accompany the cypher. Kruza Kid really dropped some […]

This weeks’ Re:Search gave a healthy serving of my favorite style of bass – the hip-hop influenced west coast variety, of course. I’ve loved Gladkill for years and through some bullshit twist of fate, I’ve missed dozens of his shows since becoming hooked during a Wakarusa set in 2014. Like star crossed lovers, three years […]

As the weekday hump comes around, it’s time for our favorite Denver residency – Re:Search Wednesday at Cervantes Other Side. MC/Cellist Jordan Polovina came on at 8:30 sharp, playing a few standout tracks from his upcoming solo album such as ‘Lay On The Line’ and ‘Face It’, which are both streaming on SoundCloud. Another highlight […]

Red Rocks Amphitheater, located on the outskirts of the Denver metropolitan area, has been known to host some of the most prolific events in music history. During the first Saturday in May, Red Rocks continued this trend with Re:Creation: an event that had artistic and musical talent dripping from the monoliths. The evening was […]

Festival Coverage
What can I say? Gem and Jam 2017 kicked off festival season for me in ways I never expected and only dreamed of. Last year’s G&J harnessed the same effect and ever since my first trip to the desert oasis, I had been patiently waiting for February to roll around again. Well, the time was […]

Last Friday night Denver’s beloved Cervantes’ Masterpiece served up a hefty dose of hometown love, and we’re STILL buzzing with plenty of reason to back it up. In addition to being a dual venue night, both stages were hosting epic scales of supreme talent. From the eccentric bass freak The Gaslamp Killer on the main […]

Though we’re always first to pack up and head to a music festival at the drop of a hat, we’ll also be the first to admit that it can be disheartening seeing the same tired headliners grace lineups, flier after flier. You can never see your favorite artist too many times. But wouldn’t you rather attend a […]
