Denver musician Jordan Polovina has more tricks up his sleeve than your favorite MC. Colorado artist and Cervantes Re:Search Wednesday resident Jordan Polovina is far beyond just a rapper. The mic torching, cello rocking 16+ year industry veteran is a part of a plethora of musical acts and has also put out a strong collection […]

Popping things off this Wednesday, Jordan Polovina warmed up the evening alternating between old and new material. A couple songs into the set, Mikey Thunder came to play and brought his fire beats for Jordan to spit over. Transitioning smoothly between songs, the two brought the funk with a healthy split of their past material […]

Kicking off another Re:Search Wednesday, Jordan Polovina started the party with a set incorporating mollifying cello playing, improvisational drum pad beats, and heavily lyrical bars accompanied by singing on the chorus. His experimental drum pad track showed off his comfortability creating beats on the fly. Jordan’s impressive Shady-esque bars flowed throughout the night as he […]

Opening the night, Jordan Polovina and Mikey Thunder brought the heat early on. Mikey came with a high-energy, bass heavy set that warmed up the venue nicely. Conjuring a freestyle session with Kruza Kid and Jordan, Mikey kept the beats coming while incorporating some live scratching to accompany the cypher. Kruza Kid really dropped some […]

The night was kicked off by rapper/cellist Jordan Polovina hitting the stage at 8:30. Looping his drum pad over his soothing cello rifts on “Get It”, he created a mellow vibe for the crowd to sway to. The set also featured a freestyle that had Jordan spitting on topics that were brought to him by […]

This weeks’ Re:Search gave a healthy serving of my favorite style of bass – the hip-hop influenced west coast variety, of course. I’ve loved Gladkill for years and through some bullshit twist of fate, I’ve missed dozens of his shows since becoming hooked during a Wakarusa set in 2014. Like star crossed lovers, three years […]

As the weekday hump comes around, it’s time for our favorite Denver residency – Re:Search Wednesday at Cervantes Other Side. MC/Cellist Jordan Polovina came on at 8:30 sharp, playing a few standout tracks from his upcoming solo album such as ‘Lay On The Line’ and ‘Face It’, which are both streaming on SoundCloud. Jordan Polovina, an accomplished cellist/MC and producer, has joined the ranks of Re:Search recently and has been kicking off every Wednesday. His stunning combination of talents keep the early birds mesmerized and locked on the dance floor, many with their jaws dropped and phones out. He also incorporated a unique instrument, a talk box, to […]

I went down to Cervantes this past Wednesday to see Um.., Ganz, Jaw Gems and Adam Deitch. In the end it turned out to be a whole lot more than just these acts, and that’s to be expected from Re:Search Wednesdays at Cervantes. Often hosting special guests and regulars such as GRiZ and Borahm Lee, […]
