The other day, I saw a show that genuinely made me feel – all the feels – as one could say. It was a tribute to David Bowie by Brazilian artist Seu Jorge at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder, Colorado. For all my love for the music of that era, I got into Bowie very […]

There are always a few artists that, for one reason or another, I never get the opportunity to see – I’m usually out of town and kicking myself in the ass for it. After years of missing Yahtzel’s performances, I was pretty stoked to see he’d be rolling through the Black Box this past week. […]

Red Rocks Amphitheater, located on the outskirts of the Denver metropolitan area, has been known to host some of the most prolific events in music history. During the first Saturday in May, Red Rocks continued this trend with Re:Creation: an event that had artistic and musical talent dripping from the monoliths. The evening was […]

When you have a crowd of Cinco de Mayo revelers on the dance floor, it’s bound to be a shitshow – and last Friday at The Black Box was the best kind of shitshow you could ask for. With Jantsen as our headliner of the night, there was still plenty of time to down tequila […]

Yesterday I awoke with the kind of excitement that only Christmas can bring to a child, yet it was something entirely different happening for me on this particular day. Today was officially CHANCE THE RAPPER DAY, or at least in my world, and with it landing on taco Tuesday as well, I was overwhelmed with […]

It was just before 8:30 when Travis stepped into Thundercloud Subs on Riverside drive. “You get a little older, and your friends don’t want to go out to shows as much anymore,” he said as he unwrapped his sandwich. Travis drove in from Houston to be on this corner in Austin this weekend. I drove […]

The city of Boulder, Colorado was treated to a stack of extraterrestrial performances headlined by glitched-out bass wizard Thriftworks last Friday night, and it was a dope kickoff to Boulder’s Spring Break crowd. Hosting the show was the Boulder House, an art gallery turned music venue that is intimate, spacious and pretty laid back. As usual, […]

Once you know me, you’ll soon find out that there are very few things I will drop everything for to pursue, and they all involve food and music. So it might have seemed spontaneous to some, but it made perfect sense to me – The Floozies were in the midst of a Colorado run, and […]

With all of the excitement surrounding the Colorado music scene this NYE, Michal Menert welcomed a SOLD OUT crowd to 2017 with an unforgettable performance at the Aggie Theater, in Fort Collins. As Fort Collins is my college town, I could not have pictured a better way to ring in the New Year than an intimate venue with […]
