This weekend, on May 10th, Colorado’s world famous venue, Red Rocks Amphitheater, will be graced by one of the most anticipated shows of the year, a Shpongle Live Band performance. If you have seen Shpongle DJ sets (Simon Posford) on any lineups as of late and might be asking yourself, “What makes this any different?” […]
Festival Coverage
Coming from someone who currently lives in the quiet and spacious Northern California mountains, it’s safe to say that Coachella Valley Music + Arts Festival was downright the most delightfully absurd fest I’ve yet to attend. Aside from celebrating 15 years of making musical history and selling out every last ticket, this year’s festival sold […]

These two names may not be familiar to you as of yet, but we aren’t very far into 2014 either. Slated to take over the scene this year are Australia’s own, electronic producers Wave Racer, actual name Thomas Purcell, and Trippy Turtle, whose name is unknown (who doesn’t love an enigma?). Rocking similar poppy, upbeat […]

When it comes to the modern world of heavy metal and progressive rock, Between the Buried and Me are heavyweights. Famed for their signature style of technical metal and long compositions, they’ve held their own as being one of the most talented bands in the scene since their inception back in 2000. Between playing sold […]

The festival has grown exponentially, now in its 28th year, and although it is experiencing some growing pains, it continues to be a staple in Austin’s creative community. SXSW is a unique event in many aspects; much like […]

During my angst-filled, awkwardly teenage formative years, I went through what everyone else did at that age – a solid emotional roller coaster. Every complication was the end of the world, my parents were my biggest frustration and no one understood me better than Emery. These guys were the soundtrack to my life. Nothing screams […]

Live Music Coverage
Composed by Gabe Bowden. Periphery, oh Periphery. This three guitarist band frontmanned by the deeply powerful vocalist Spencer Sotelo is definitely one of my favorite bands to see live. Their guitarists, Misha Mansoor, Mark Holcomb, and Jeff Bowen have seemed to master their own style of music. To me, that is why they can essentially […]
