I waited drinking coffee at Barnes and Noble for what felt like an eternity. Jason was moving as fast as he could, having gotten out of work a short while ago. I can imagine him careening down the highway in his old blue minivan, cutting off drivers and scaring old ladies. If ever there […]

Could “convergence” be any better a word for the union of two progressive metal powerhouses? Prog-gods Periphery and Animals as Leaders joined forces for their “Convergence Tour” all across North America and recently made their mark in Houston this November. To what could we owe this honor? “While we’ve done some short runs and one-off […]

I had barreled down I-35 to Austin thinking I was running late only to arrive to an empty venue. Emo’s had opened its doors at 7pm, but the opener, Austin’s own Cloudchord, wasn’t slated to start until 9. It wasn’t surprising to find Cloudchord there. In fact, I expected it. Having seen him earlier this […]

Colorado is known for quite a few things, and when it comes to the world of live music, the mile high always turns things into an all out family affair. Lettuce are bringing a mixed bag of funk for our ears, and we’re getting even more pumped for the opening artists. Reggae inspired band RDGLDGRN […]

Anytime you find yourself at the Fox Theater in Boulder, you’re bound to have a good time. Parking isn’t much of an issue and there are nice little food and drink spots all around the area (including an Insomnia Cookies down the street which is open until 3am). The theater is clean, organized and brings […]

The other day, I saw a show that genuinely made me feel – all the feels – as one could say. It was a tribute to David Bowie by Brazilian artist Seu Jorge at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder, Colorado. For all my love for the music of that era, I got into Bowie very […]

After taking in such a monstrous lineup, you’d be surprised to learn that 2017 will mark only the second year of Sound on Sound Fest. Who says newcomers can’t knock the big boys from the top? Their inaugural year was executed effortlessly, even when the fest was met with mother nature’s rainy wrath. Walker Margin, the A […]

Words by Daniel Keppe and Tai Carpenter Glass Animals are back in the United States and they did not disappoint at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 26th, 2017! The only downside to the show minus the rain….the lack of an opener, as the rail entrance to the venue was jam packed with fans missing half […]
