Crumb’s latest single “Trophy” seems to be the final departure from the mood that their first EPs had established: warm and carefree, lush with twinkling pianos and whimsical yet endearing vocals. Instead, “Trophy” is a continuation of the much darker sound Crumb introduced on their debut album, Jinx. 2019’s Jinx solemnly took the listener’s hand […]

All too often which musician gets written about involves a big game of “Who Do You Know?” Does a band know an editor who runs a publication? Did an artist land a gig with someone who writes a weekly “Up and Coming” column? As someone who has written about music for the past ten years, […]

Billy King & The Bad Bad Bad released their debut LP on Halloween and we have not been able to stop listening to it. Deemed Surf Rock From Hell, The Bad Bad Bad brings just that. A delectable fusion of hellish thematics, dark lyrics that are delightfully relatable, and insatiable guitar, bass, and drum playing […]

I’m the worst at checking out new music. Usually it’s because there are albums I love enough to play them over and over, other times it’s straight forgetfulness. In an effort to feel better about my own living under a rock, I decided to share my favorite albums thus far of this quarantine period. What better […]

Tonight marks the end of the eighth annual WinterWonderGrass. Each year for WinterWonderGrass Steamboat Ski Resort becomes a straight jam for three days. Three large tent stages and a mountain-front main stage are stacked each year with renowned bluegrass and string artists. A variety of local breweries and food trucks set up at the fest […]

Mötley Crüe Not many touring artists today have a live performance catalogue dating back to the dawn of the 80’s. L.A. based Mötley Crüe hasn’t officially toured since 2015 and “The Final Tour” turns out to be not-so-final appearance by this epic 80s hair band. Spiked straightened hair, heavy eye makeup, and epic synthy guitar […]

Denver’s Mission Ballroom morphed into a sensational cerulean circus party this past Tuesday, December 31st, where I brought in the new decade with Leftover Salmon, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Lindsay Lou, and surprise guest Mac Sabbath. Not only a celebration of the end of 2019, the show also marks the close of Leftover Salmon’s […]

Prior to about two weeks ago, I hadn’t planned on doing much in regards to New Year plans. However, I also have a knack for getting into shenanigans last minute, and this was no different. Seeing that two bands I adore were heading to Oakland for a two night run at the beautiful Fox Theater, […]

If you are yet to become familiar, Diiv are a band who convey a staggering amount of emotional depth for only being a 4 piece. After first seeing Diiv at this past years’ Desert Daze, I was instantly drawn to their shoe gaze/thrash/rock n’ roll style. I believe Diiv are single-handedly bringing back shoe-gaze with […]
