Although it were a massive, sold out crowd that was beginning to fill the majestic walls of Fox Theater last Thursday, you wouldn’t be able to tell. Radically different from the usual chaotic masses at most concerts, the docility of your average Tycho fan most closely resembles a happily grazing cow – cooperative and content, focused only on […]

Pop-Metal rockers Alesana kicked off their Chaos Is A Ladder Tour with Megosh in Austin last week after making Trees in Dallas one of their first stops on the tour. Review and Photos by Brooke Stalker. Some may say to “Never Go Full Irie”. Luckily, Dallas turned a deaf ear to those foolish souls this past Thursday August 28, at local hot spot, The Gas Monkey, successfully pulling off a full Rasta Welcome for the talented guys apart of the Tribal Seeds. Kicking off their […]

In a span of just a few years, Marvel Years has carved a name out for himself in the electro-soul community as one of it’s freshest and most promising stars. Even though Cory Wythe isn’t able to legally drink in a bar yet, he has adopted a relentless touring schedule all around the country, headlining shows and […]

Denver’s own Rockers Movement, dedicated to bringing Colorado the highest, most irie roots reggae from all over the world, did just that this past Friday night, July 18, 2014, at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in celebration of the late, great African peace-keeper, Nelson Mandela. All the way from the Virgin Island of St. Croix, Midnite is […]

My first introduction to Fink was the most beautifully random thing I’d had the chance to discover a couple years ago. Stumbling upon treasures like Fink are one of the best things that can happen to your music taste buds. The first tune I played by Fink was “Pretty Little Thing” from his soulful “Biscuits […]

If you’re bold enough to put the word ‘fun’ in your name and then go even further by adding two more ‘fun’s’ after it, chances are you know what you’re doing. Fun Fun Fun are the badasses of the festival scene, like the cool kids on the playground who weren’t afraid to chum it up […]

To say the magic of an organic festival scene was alive and well atop Mulberry Mountain would be a severe understatement, as the weekend I spent at this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival felt as though an entire alternate universe had opened up; the land almost beams with remnants from a past time. Wakarusa successfully embodied […]

The emergence and growing popularity of transformational music festivals in the past several years offers a poignant outlet for creating a more conscious foundation of human community based on self expression, collective collaboration, and a combination of numerous mediums to climb to a higher order of creativity. Every Time I Die is one of the most progressive hardcore punk bands out there today. Since crashing onto the scene with 2001’s Last Night In Town, the boys from ETID have yet to slow down, steadily releasing nothing but relentless and amped up punk anthems. Each album is guaranteed to make a mosh pit out […]
