A night of sensual, west coast bass featuring Gladkill, Great Dane for Re:Search Wednesday | January 17th, 2018 [Live Show Review]

This weeks’ Re:Search gave a healthy serving of my favorite style of bass – the hip-hop influenced west coast variety, of course. I’ve loved Gladkill for years and through some bullshit twist of fate, I’ve missed dozens of his shows since becoming hooked during a Wakarusa set in 2014. Like star crossed lovers, three years […]

Colorado loves Greensky Bluegrass, and their recent 3 night run in Denver couldn’t have been sweeter. We were able to send photographer Austin Dodson on the final night, January 13th, to capture their performance at the beautiful Ogden Theater. Follow the band as they continue their Winter Tour 2018 through the Midwest and along the […]

Sold Out Show FOMO for K.L.O. : The Black Box Hosts A Night of Massive Talent | January 9th, 2018 [Show Review]

The anticipation from Tuesday nights’ debut of London producers K.L.O. was enough to cause FOMO among even oblivious Denver heads. I received more than a few eager texts from friends (who had never even listened to the neuro-hop group) asking for guidance in the way of tickets, since word was quickly spreading that it would […]

Another Re:Search in the books: Jordan Polovina, Mikey Thunder, Daily Bread, and Toy Box at Cervantes’ Otherside | December 27th, 2017 [Show Review]

Jordan Polovina, an accomplished cellist/MC and producer, has joined the ranks of Re:Search recently and has been kicking off every Wednesday. His stunning combination of talents keep the early birds mesmerized and locked on the dance floor, many with their jaws dropped and phones out. He also incorporated a unique instrument, a talk box, to […]

Bass, Dads, Shlump AND MORE… at Denver’s The Black Box | December 15th, 2017 [Event Review]

I went down to the Black Box on Friday to see Meska, Mtn Menace, Big Chocolate, and Shlump. They have a chill outdoor area with lots of seating and a huge Chris Dyer painting on the wall. Inside they have vendors, a pool table and a lounge with djs all night, that happens to be […]

HӒANA and Random Rab + Super Special Guest | December 9th, 2017 [Show Review]

Walking into Ophelia’s Electric Soap Box in downtown Denver, I was immediately surprised by their size and set up. Ophelia’s is more of a bar than a true concert venue, and is very tiny for a show of Random Rab’s magnitude. It’s no wonder the show sold out days in advance. It has a small […]

This week I got the opportunity to explore Denver’s music scene for 5 days in a row of diverse music. Tuesday, I went down to see Hatcha and Ivy Lab throw down their sub frequency sounds for a sold out Black Box. It was popping as ever, with a 30-minute line out the door leading […]
