Electronic music duo Odesza have been making quite the splash in the underground EDM culture since the release of their 2012 debut album “Summer’s Gone.” Having barely graduated college, the duo suddenly had a rapidly expanding fanbase, hungry for more of the unique sound they had carved out for themselves. Their 2013 EP release, “My Friends Never Die,” […]

In addition to talking about the craziness of SXSW, his origins in the burner scene and what was next up on […]

The energy in Colorado was abuzz late last week as we approached the historic honey moon that fell on Friday the 13th, a rare astronomical event that won’t take place again until 2049. Needless to say, I refused to indulge myself in anything less than spectacular, and I couldn’t think of a better plan than […]

SCOOTENANNY will forever hold a special place in my heart. This day-long event, which boasted some of the best up-and-coming musicians Texas has to offer, featured a full spectrum of indie rock & dance acts that surely won’t be beat for a long time to come (or at least until the Fall, in this crazy […]

The launch of Undersaturated Presents blessed NYC this past Thursday, with an impressive lineup including Brooklyn natives Technicolor Lenses, Low Temp label star BRANX, and Austin born violinist Govinda, with headlining psymbient artist Phutureprimitive. Needless to say, Highline Ballroom swayed all night long with captivating beats, and the crowd came together in celebration of such […]

Though they may not be anywhere near the top of the billing, the act I’m most looking forward to is Boulder, Colorado’s three piece livetronica act DYNOHUNTER. Featuring Justin Ehmer on drums, Fred Reisen on bass and synth and Clark Smith on saxophone, keys and production, DYNOHUNTER creates a sound that appeals to both EDM […]

There aren’t too many pop punk bands on our radar, but Virginia up and comers Pissghetti grabbed our attention with one listen of their single, ‘Surf’s Up’, an upbeat love song that makes us think of a younger Blink 182 – or a happier Nirvana. Making up Pissghetti are lead singer/guitarist Vincent Castellano, additional vocalist/guitarist […]

If you’re bold enough to put the word ‘fun’ in your name and then go even further by adding two more ‘fun’s’ after it, chances are you know what you’re doing. Fun Fun Fun are the badasses of the festival scene, like the cool kids on the playground who weren’t afraid to chum it up […]

To say the magic of an organic festival scene was alive and well atop Mulberry Mountain would be a severe understatement, as the weekend I spent at this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival felt as though an entire alternate universe had opened up; the land almost beams with remnants from a past time. Wakarusa successfully embodied […]
