Leave it to Denver’s bass den, The Black Box, to bring in some of the most sought after talent in the scene for a weekly headliner slot. This weeks’ Electronic Tuesday will see its heaviest show of the year with K.L.O. and Sortof Vague arranging minds in the main room. The Cosmic Synergy collective will […]

Goopsteppa graciously ends 2017 with the release of album Wonders Album Review by Marissa Luna The music of Goopsteppa has always made me feel like I’ve traveled through the twists and turns of a narrow tunnel, only to emerge into a vastly beautiful cave. As deep bass mingles with the delicate vibrancies of otherworldly sounds, […]

I’ve covered many events at the Nectar Lounge, but never have I seen the venue so packed than the night Minnesota came through. A sea of people poured out of the venue into the outdoor patio, and each of the many times I tried to visit the spacious viewing balcony above, a mild-mannered bouncer turned […]

Lovable funk band BoomBox are officially in Denver, Colorado for their three night run at the Gothic Theater, and we’re more than ecstatic to be joining the ride. Since Boombox collaborator Russ Randolph parted ways, we’ve already fallen head first in love with the new tunes. Two tracks released this year, ‘Right Around Two’, and […]

Jordan Polovina, an accomplished cellist/MC and producer, has joined the ranks of Re:Search recently and has been kicking off every Wednesday. His stunning combination of talents keep the early birds mesmerized and locked on the dance floor, many with their jaws dropped and phones out. He also incorporated a unique instrument, a talk box, to […]

Shortly after releasing their 11th studio album, it’s not us out January 12th. Umphrey’s McGee will embark on a huge winter tour in support of the new record. The initial tour announcement runs through March, and includes a plethora of dates from coast to coast. During the course of the lengthy 29-night headlining trek, the band […]

I went down to the Black Box on Friday to see Meska, Mtn Menace, Big Chocolate, and Shlump. They have a chill outdoor area with lots of seating and a huge Chris Dyer painting on the wall. Inside they have vendors, a pool table and a lounge with djs all night, that happens to be […]

Walking into Ophelia’s Electric Soap Box in downtown Denver, I was immediately surprised by their size and set up. Ophelia’s is more of a bar than a true concert venue, and is very tiny for a show of Random Rab’s magnitude. It’s no wonder the show sold out days in advance. It has a small […]

Through a series of synchronicities, I ended up at the Emerald Cup in a working capacity. Offered a gig with Meadow MD by a friend, I was in charge of wristbanding all attendees with Proposition 215 credentials.

Exmag have always been favorites of mine, and when I stumbled on a show flier while traveling in San Francisco last week, I was ecstatic to catch them one more time before the new year. Always forging ahead with fresh musical styles, Exmag are one of the most creative bands on the circuit, and it […]
