East coast funk-hop aficionados Lettuce are blowing plumes of smoke through every stop on the current leg of their US tour. Fresh off the tracks of their 2022 release Unify, the six piece future funk band headlined Denver Comes Alive earlier this month at the Mission Ballroom. As one of the most vibrant music scenes […]

Gather up, Hulagans! Suwannee Hulaween music festival makes its return on Thursday, October 27th through Sunday October 30th. For those who don’t know, Hulaween has absolutely been the place to be on Halloween weekend for the past 9 years. With this year’s “Horror-Disco” theme and an average attendance of 20,000 people, there is sure to […]

Since their Grammy’s nomination back in November, the average Lettuce fan’s energy has been elevated to another level; mine included. When I was able to secure a flight to San Francisco for the New Year’s Eve Lettuce show, it was all I looked forward to for weeks leading up. Sometimes the best way to ring […]

For New Orleans residents, the Jazz Fest spirit is alive and well all year round. Celebrating 50 years, I was ecstatic to experience Jazz Fest for the very first time. As a relatively new jazz listener, I knew I loved classic players like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, but I had yet to dig […]

Electric Forest, a titan among the music and arts festivals sprinkling across the American Summer, sold out in a mere four hours on December 7. The collective groan of latecomers was almost audible as I read the press release. But don’t fret – there is hope! Electric Forest has opened an Official Wristband Exchange for […]

Last week saw the funkiest cats around, Lettuce, take over the world renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre for their infamous Rage Rocks, making number 5 their best yet. Missing the openers Jaw Gems was seriously tragic, as I was first acquainted with this group of talent through Lettuce and have followed their growth closely; I was […]

Forget parking in my usual spot a block away from Stubb’s. Red River felt particularly crowded this past weekend – even by Austin standards. It seemed nearly every major spot had a line streaming down the sidewalk for entry, and Stubb’s was no exception. The reason can be summed up in one word: […]

Colorado is known for quite a few things, and when it comes to the world of live music, the mile high always turns things into an all out family affair. Lettuce are bringing a mixed bag of funk for our ears, and we’re getting even more pumped for the opening artists. Reggae inspired band RDGLDGRN […]

A collaborative perspective piece from Cait Falc (CF) and Chloe Casey (CC). All photos by Cait Falc. When Maddy O’Neal initially came to me with the idea of going on tour with her, Chloe Casey, and the Lettuce team, I had no idea what to expect. I had never been on the road until now, not […]

I went down to Cervantes this past Wednesday to see Um.., Ganz, Jaw Gems and Adam Deitch. In the end it turned out to be a whole lot more than just these acts, and that’s to be expected from Re:Search Wednesdays at Cervantes. Often hosting special guests and regulars such as GRiZ and Borahm Lee, […]
