The co-headline that dreams are made of. Dance music lovers were united in an evening of pure sweat, fun and groove on Sunday night in Portland, packing out the Moda Center for the hottest tour of the year. Kaytranada and Justice have only just gotten started on what will be a very limited 13 date […]

On the eve of Austin’s SXSW, the only place to be on Thursday night was bearing witness to the electronic French duo Justice, composed of members Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. Returning with their first album in nearly a decade, Hyperdrama, the synth wave pioneers have spent the majority of that time staying busy […]

As a former Austin resident, Austin City Limits was always more about the week after than the festival itself, but there were oftentimes I could be swayed into attending by visiting friends just to get mixed into the scene. As one of the largest festivals that continues to grow, ACL can be a massive event […]

‘Summertime fine’ holds endless meanings for many people, but I know I’m not alone when making the seasonal connection to the hottest lineup drops of the year. Though many other gatherings have attempted to meet the demands of throwing top notch parties for Halloween weekend, no one can match the spectacle of Hulaween. For 10 […]

There is a feeling in the air, isn’t there? Whether conservative or left-leaning, we feel ourselves in the midst of a great-happening. As I sit here typing these words, multiple states have joined in a “showdown” at the Texas border in a dispute between the president and the governor. Political unrest has never been greater, […]

Four Tet, aka Kieran Hebden, is a world builder. The producer has collaborated with everyone from Skrillex to Bloc Party to Thom Yorke and Madlib, yet remains enigmatic enough that categorizing the musician is an impossible feat. His penchant for sampling vintage, beloved records from around the globe and bringing them into the contemporary mainstream […]

I brought my camera out to Denver’s Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom Shift Thursday on August 18th to check out The Galactic Effect, Tripzy Leary, Pheuzen (Treavor from Desert Dwellers), and Mystic Grizzly. First, to cool down a warm August evening, I caught Neptvn and Dimethyldreamz in the first rotation of the classic dual DJ Silent Disco on […]

In 2016, Mike Iannotto began releasing music under Cobrayama, taking a step away from his previous involvement in Exmag by focusing on the solo project. Though his styles vary from experimental RnB to punk (peep his band Summerhead) and shoe-gaze, the latest from him and Gibbz are mellow yet uptempo – the type of lush […]

Arriving at the sleek, high production venue 45 East, it’s hard to know what to expect based on the layout and location. Nestled within a few blocks of warehouses on the east side of Portland, 45 East unites a bottle service club vibe with a low-key party feel. The pretentiousness of a usual club is […]
