It feels like just yesterday that Slightly Stoopid’s 2017 summer tour announcement lit up my live music radar. It was a chilly winter morning, and warm as those fresh Texas tour dates were, summer felt so far away. Then I wake up and it’s the end of July – and Slightly Stoopid is pulling up […]

Earlier this week, Dallas venue South Side Ballroom played host to our incredibly talented friends, alt-J. In what seems to be a marvel of modern humanity, this English rock group managed to do something unheard of: making Monday a day to look forward to. Energies were high before the music began. From the wrap around […]

In what has become an expected fashion, the members of Beats Antique took their audience on a journey. The night’s crowd was composed of a wide assortment of creatures; owls, squids, tigers, and LED manipulators intermingled from the bar to the barricade. The Bomb Factory, a newly renovated Dallas venue, proved to be an exemplary […]

Walking through the hallways of a Dallas high school to drop off a clothing donation, I eavesdropped on a young group of girls who were frantically debating whether they should attend the upcoming Something Wonderful, a single day EDM festival taking place on April 18th at the Cotton Bowl. This would have been my opportunity […]

Such Trill. Much Wave. Wow. In case you missed it, here is a recap of Trillwave’s Wednesday weekly at Beauty Bar last night with special guest SYSTEM, aka Ryan Black. SYSTEM played a special UK Garage set and laced in some break beat tunes and speed garage. The highlight of the night was when he dropped […]

Live Music Coverage
It was last week at the South Side Ballroom in Dallas, where a sparse group of 20-30somethings dressed in mostly black waited outside in anticipation of seeing one of their most adored rock bands: Saosin. Standing around and kicking the pavement with their high top black Converse, friend groups hesitantly merged, but bonded to speak about […]

From the tides of the Atlantic came the sounds of Scotland, blessing our weary souls with We Were Promised Jetpacks’ first Dallas performance in years. Setting Dallas ablaze with dreamy Scottish accents, classic guitar-heavy rhythms, and virtuously danceable, yet staggeringly straightforward percussions – this show did not disappoint. Let me start by saying that if […]
