The night was kicked off by rapper/cellist Jordan Polovina hitting the stage at 8:30. Looping his drum pad over his soothing cello rifts on “Get It”, he created a mellow vibe for the crowd to sway to. The set also featured a freestyle that had Jordan spitting on topics that were brought to him by […]

Lovable funk band BoomBox are officially in Denver, Colorado for their three night run at the Gothic Theater, and we’re more than ecstatic to be joining the ride. Since Boombox collaborator Russ Randolph parted ways, we’ve already fallen head first in love with the new tunes. Two tracks released this year, ‘Right Around Two’, and […]

Jordan Polovina, an accomplished cellist/MC and producer, has joined the ranks of Re:Search recently and has been kicking off every Wednesday. His stunning combination of talents keep the early birds mesmerized and locked on the dance floor, many with their jaws dropped and phones out. He also incorporated a unique instrument, a talk box, to […]

Exmag have always been favorites of mine, and when I stumbled on a show flier while traveling in San Francisco last week, I was ecstatic to catch them one more time before the new year. Always forging ahead with fresh musical styles, Exmag are one of the most creative bands on the circuit, and it […]

This week I got the opportunity to explore Denver’s music scene for 5 days in a row of diverse music. Tuesday, I went down to see Hatcha and Ivy Lab throw down their sub frequency sounds for a sold out Black Box. It was popping as ever, with a 30-minute line out the door leading […]

I had barreled down I-35 to Austin thinking I was running late only to arrive to an empty venue. Emo’s had opened its doors at 7pm, but the opener, Austin’s own Cloudchord, wasn’t slated to start until 9. It wasn’t surprising to find Cloudchord there. In fact, I expected it. Having seen him earlier this […]

Elevate begins as a shimmer of sound that gently morphs into infectious and illustrious grooves. Like morning sun touching your closed eyes, the warmth of their sound is simultaneously soothing and energizing. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia 30/70 has carved the perfect niche for themselves in Australia’s flourishing future-soul scene, releasing their debut LP Cold Radish […]

Genre-blending is not an uncommon practice anymore. It’s not so out there these days to hear about electronic-rap-metal or indie-folk-punk. The yardstick is quality, and when it comes to quality, few reach the level of Thievery Corporation – a production duo from Washington DC that has been happily smelting vibes from all corners of the […]

Colorado is known for quite a few things, and when it comes to the world of live music, the mile high always turns things into an all out family affair. Lettuce are bringing a mixed bag of funk for our ears, and we’re getting even more pumped for the opening artists. Reggae inspired band RDGLDGRN […]
