After the insane weekend we had covering Buku Music + Arts Project this past March, we knew we could expect nothing but the best from the event crew (Winter Circle Productions, Huka Entertainment, and MCP Presents) in coming up with another jaw dropping and eclectic lineup for 2015, and they more than delivered. Last year we raved on and on about Buku’s incredible implemention of diversity topped our Too Buku moments of 2014, but it looks like we’ve got even more to look forward to.
First and foremost, simply the idea of letting the Nectar loose in the city of Nola for a night was more than enough to get us rushing to buy our passes! Not only is the Basshead community coming in full force, but in the unique and celebratory spirit of ‘Nawlins this is sure to be a performance to stand out for years to come. Adding in the impressive, yet alien-like live productions of Empire of the Sun and the strange and exotic sounds of Die Antwoord and you’ve got us sold.
Trailing down the poster are more bass heavy producers, such as Borgore, Run The Jewels, Mr. Carmack and Flosstradamus, but Buku ups their trill factor by adding in a few other names that bring trouble to mind: A$AP Rocky, Boosie Badazz, Bobby Shmurda, and Yung Lean and Sad Boys… and that’s just the initial tease!
