Lettuce completely demolished their four night Texas run, bringing the upmost funky vibes to San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and last Saturday to the historic Emo’s Austin.
This psychedelic funk band has been paving the way in keeping the funk alive by keeping ingenuity, classic compilations and grooving music thriving in a world drowned out by edm and political unrest. After catching the San Antonio and Houston shows, I knew the Saturday night Austin show would be the most rowdy yet. Austin has got the fever for the funk and the crowd, energy and vibe of Saturday night’s show was a true testament to this statement. Lettuce dropped their last album Crush exactly a year ago and this Friday, 11/11, the boys will drop the continuation of Crush, Mt. Crushmore, before playing two huge shows in New York at the Playstation Theater. THANKFULLY for us Lettuce heads, the boys are giving us Mt. Crushmore early, which is the only thing keeping me going on such a monumentally awful day as today. They released a preview on Red Bull Music and you can LISTEN HERE!!! The weekend in NY will serve as a weekend long celebration to Lettuce’s evolving sound and the release of Mt.Crushmore. An outrageously high energy brass band from Brooklyn that you should not miss, Red Baraat, opens up the Friday show and The beloved Floozies will begin Saturday’s shenanigans. Get your tickets here for NY and the remaining “Sounds Like A Party” dates. Keep spreading that love and funk, Lettuce!
