Natural Selectah laces Denver with Irie vibes for Reggae Night at Ophelia’s Electric Soap Box | May 3rd, 2017

Ophelia’s is one of our favorite venues in the city, and with the addition of Natural Selectah’s monthly Reggae nights, they’ve become the best. A revolving lineup of singers, percussionists, and horn players means that literally anyone can wind up sitting in on a Wednesday night. For this month’s roster, Natural Selectah guests include members from Thievery Corporation, Pimps of Joytime, DubSkin, The Motet, New Master Sounds and more, who will all be lacing non-reggae songs with a strong Irie vibe. As far as we know, this is an idea that’s never been done before, and it’s already becoming a new Denver staple.

Tonight attendees have the chance to win tickets to the upcoming Tatanka show at the Bluebird, as well as other musical surprises in store! Jeff Franca, a newly established Denver resident and member of bands Congo Sanchez and Thievery Corporation, is overwhelmed with the turnout of the collaborations. “Sometimes I look around on stage and think to myself, ‘Wow, look at all of these musicians that have somehow come together here in Denver… what a scene!’ Denver is one of a kind.”

The last Natural Selectah converted the dance floor of Ophelia’s into a sexy and grooving party, and the same is bound to happen tonight. Tickets are still available – experience Natural Selectah for yourself!
