Templo delivers 7th EP of the last three months: Icarus | October 13th, 2016 [Album Review]

Templo, one of the hardest working musicians in the industry just dropped his seventh EP within the last three months titled Icarus. In the spirit of the Greek myth from which the album derives its name Templo immerses you deeply into a labyrinth of meaning and mythology. Somehow, having put out as many songs as he has in the last few months, every song on this album manages to maintain a sense of originality and uniqueness all its own. Through tracks like ‘Typewriter‘ and ‘Fade and Balance‘, the album maintains a sense of solemn reverie throughout, while making periodic breaks into the raw wubs quintessential of electronic music through songs like ‘Snow Tiger‘ and ‘Like a Samureye‘.

These tracks also take a break from the strict deep down-tempo vibes present throughout the album to offer a flavor of the happy and uplifting. Templo is a very talented musician and Icarus is evidence that his creativity is inexhaustible. You should check this album out if for no other reason to witness the feat he has accomplished in this seventh EP in perhaps as many weeks. Icarus is a solid album bound to capture the intrigue of anyone with an interest in mid and down-tempo electronic music.
