Ain’t no party like a Hallow’s Eve party, and Michal Menert and his Pretty Fantastics proved just that this past Friday at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium. Opening up the night with experimental producer Thriftworks, rising Soulection artist StarRo and the chaotic breakdancing freak they call The Gaslamp Killer, the room was packed out within an hour […]

Kool Keith is a straight up OG, and he’s one of the most fascinating creatures on planet Earth… perhaps even the Galaxy. Having cofounded legendary rap group Ultramagnetic MCs in the late ’80s, Keith is best known for his multiple eccentric personalities and abstract, often profane lyricism. His critically acclaimed debut solo album Dr. Octagonecologyst dropped in 1996 under the […]

Hip-Hop
Though I’ve seen my fair share of bass rattling concerts at Denver’s legendary Ogden Theater, Run the Jewels was the very first time I truly felt my head throb – the bass this duo brought to the venue was overwhelming in all the right ways. This past Tuesday saw Denver’s legion of hip hop heads […]

Festival Coverage
This year’s installment of Riot Fest saw one of the best lineups of the summer, and we were all too excited to be apart of the action here in Denver! Making the National Western Complex Center their home for the weekend, the new venue overshadows last years Sports Authority by a long shot, and gave […]

The Mishawaka Amphitheatre’s beauty has long been a staple in Colorado’s outdoor music scene, and it holds a strong reputation as an intimate venue where larger than life artists such as Phil Lesh, George Clinton, and more have performed in years past. This night’s show had me experiencing the Mish for the very first time, […]

Every so often you will meet people in life who are akin to mountains; they may be far and few between, but having them in your life changes it forever. Christopher ‘Puma’ Ptah is one of those people. At times private and reserved, the empathetic fervor that he possesses is powerful. His presence alone draws attention without bragging […]
