Kool Keith is a straight up OG, and he’s one of the most fascinating creatures on planet Earth… perhaps even the Galaxy. Having cofounded legendary rap group Ultramagnetic MCs in the late ’80s, Keith is best known for his multiple eccentric personalities and abstract, often profane lyricism. His critically acclaimed debut solo album Dr. Octagonecologyst dropped in 1996 under the moniker Dr. Octagon, and was followed with a series of independent releases included Sex Style and First Come, First Served (released as Dr. Dooom). Keith’s soft-spoken, high pitched voice only makes his unusual personality that much more surreal. He’s kind of like a mad scientist visiting Earth from a galaxy far far away who’s using hip hop to explore our planet, and rap to communicate his obscure thoughts and ideas to us humans.

His most recent album Time? Astonishing! was released in 2015 by Mello Music Group. The album was produced by L’Orange and is thick with galactic adventures through time and space; it’s another Kool Keith classic in the making.

We caught the Ultraman when he came to Greater Boston on 29 October 2015 to rock a Halloween show at the Middle East Nightclub before heading out West to finish up his tour. Check out our photo gallery below
