Funkadelphia at Farm Fest + Artist Spotlight | Ageless

By Mike Fitzgerald Compose Yourself Editorial
Funkadelphia at Farm Fest + Artist Spotlight | Ageless

As if Farm Fest’s lineup wasn’t stellar enough, the folks over at Funkadelphia are bringing the Funkytown Stage, a completely different aspect of the festival with an additional lineup guaranteed to keep the funk alive at Farm Fest throughout the weekend. Featuring such great artists as Unlimited Gravity, Project Aspect, Spankalicious, Supersillyus, a secret special guest on Saturday night and many more, the addition of this stage has accomplished the impressive feat of getting me even more excited for Farm Fest! But what excites me the most is the addition of one of my favorite up and coming electro soul artists, Ageless.

I first discovered Ageless’ music late last year when he put out Collab EP with Miami based Glitch Hop artist Warp 9, and since then I’ve fallen in love with his unique perspective on the electro-soul/future funk genre (I’ve played his album Off Course, But on Point at least twice a week for the past six months). Meshing together hip-hop beats with classic samples from just about any other genre you can think of, I can see why Ageless is a fitting moniker for Queens, NY’s bred Wesley Paioff. Every track on “Off Course, But on Point” mixes so seamlessly between genres it’s almost hard to tell what decade this music belongs in, but I’m certainly glad it’s here for me to enjoy now. And there’s a lot to enjoy with Ageless releasing a slew of EPs and LPs as well as an arsenal of singles. His most recent release, Collab EP, with British Columbia artist Sway, marks their debut as swAgeless, so there is a ton of music waiting to be explored. Make sure to check out his set, in addition to all of the other great performances on Funkadelphia’s Funkytown Stage!
