Boredom Fighters Take Over The Black Box for Not So Silent Auction Fundraiser Show

The Boredomfighters are back at The Black Box on December 19th for a Not So Silent Auction raising money for The Bob Moog Foundation and funding music workshops for kids in underserved communities. The night will feature music in the main room by special guest headliners, an Instrument Garden Studio in the Lounge, and an auction for items such as a Philos Records merch pack, digital design services, music lessons from Deeply Rooted Music School and more! The community based event will help fund causes that all music fans, and those close to the city of Asheville, can connect with.

What is the money raised from the auction going towards?

The Boredomfighters Foundation is incredibly proud to announce half of all proceeds from our Not So Silent Auction event will go to help a non-profit honoring the same man that created the legendary brand Moog Synthesizers – The Bob Moog Foundation in Asheville, NC. The funds will assist the many educational programs they provide to their community and ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. What is the story behind the Boredom Fighters?

The Boredom Fighters have a purposeful mission to make an impact. The org helps empower underserved youth to express themselves and find purpose in their communities through music and event production.

The Boredomfighters movement was started by a group of music producers, festival throwers, and record label runners who found themselves in the campgrounds of music festivals setting up immersive studio spaces called “The Instrument Garden” and making music purely out of the noises in the environment, building collaborations with total strangers.

One day, our founders were invited to bring the Garden to a school, which led to the development of a workshop designed to drive interest in music production for kids who likely would not have had the opportunity to learn these skills.

The way kids lit up from having access to modern music making tools and knowledge about the music industry was enough to inspire the life into what is now a nonprofit shepherding the modern era of music making into communities and education systems nationwide.
