Colorado’s Evanoff Releases New Single ‘Aesthetic Arrest,’ Here’s Everything You Want To Know [Song Review]

We have been keeping our ears and eyes on Evanoff, the talented young trio from Boulder, Colorado, since catching them at The Untz Fest Pre-Party and Vertex Festival last Summer. The pace at which their unique sound is growing is phenomenal to witness and their latest single Aesthetic Arrest definitely sets the band in a pocket of live electronic “dream rock” all their own.

Opening up with some irresistible bass slapping and otherworldly synths from Parker Oberholzer coupled with drummer Jake Hall’s steady build up and J.J. Evanoff’s whimsical guitar melodies, Aesthetic Arrest’s gradual minute and a half climb into incredible classic rock guitar breakdown takes listeners on an epic journey reminiscent of the final battle in a rip-roarin’ 1980’s Street Fighter match…that you of course dominate. J.J.’s rippage follows serving as a testament to his talent and the band’s signature fusion of classic rock and electronic music, before the aesthetic shifts back to the undeniably effective drum and bass combo of Oberholzer and Hall. Evanoff throws some wistful guitar melodies in there before the boys break it down one last time, promptly ending only after some more prime wailing from J.J. Evanoff.

Aesthetic Arrest is a relentlessly enjoyable five minute plus tune and we are excited to hear more from Evanoff. The band is set to support Vibe Street on upcoming tour dates as well as playing Tucson’s 11th annual Gem & Jam Festival in February and Euphoria Music Festival in Austin, Texas, early April. Definitely catch a show if you can and until then, jam your face off to this new banger.
