As we continue to have tragedies occur throughout the globe and in our own backyards, it’s becoming increasingly more noticeable that the media only focuses on stories that will generate controversy, while crucial issues sometimes receive little to no exposure at all. The most recent of disasters being shunned by mainstream media has been the flooding in Louisiana. As the most devastating hurricane since Superstorm Sandy in 2012, more than 100,000 homes are left decimated and 13 lives have been lost.

Refusing to stand idle, a multitude of musicians, festival organizers and music executives came together to create the Louisiana Relief Campaign, offering unique music benefits in exchange for donations to the cause. Among those joining the ballot for this killer charity include Bassnectar, Skrillex, Gramatik, The Chainsmokers, Thievery Corporation, Blink-182, the iconic comedy show Saturday Night Live, and many more. All participants donating using #LouisianaStrong will receive the Music for Relief compilation, featuring unreleased mixes from Bassnectar, Reed Mathis, Boreta, Gramatik, Z-Trip, Figure, Dumpstaphunk and more. Those with more to give for charity experiences can win full-paid trips to Desert Trip, III Points to hang with Thievery Corporation, Blink-182, Voodoo Music + Arts Fest with The Chainsmokers, or even a filming of Saturday Night Live.
