Cashmere Cat, also known as Magnus August Høiberg, is making an appearance at BUKU Music Festival this month on his Wedding Bells Tour. The Norwegian-born producer’s signature sound adventures through sexy hip-hop samples, hyphy beats and futuristic bass. EP “Wedding Bells” is Cashmere Cat’s latest masterpiece, released in February of this year. The 4-track EP flirts with hip-hop samples and heavy bass-lines, proving that quality electronic music is both heard and felt throughout the entire body.
Cashmere Cat took the electronic music scene by storm in 2012, making appearances at large-scale events such as Austin’s SXSW with his bootleg remixes of tracks by Jeremih, 2 Chainz and Lana Del Rey. “Mirror Maru” was the young producer’s debut EP released in October of 2012.
The first time I saw Cashmere Cat was at a SXSW afterhours showcase in 2013; my ears were left mesmerized by his unique sound. Although it was merely a small showcase, I knew that Cashmere Cat was a producer I needed to keep my eye on after his raw performance. I can’t wait to catch another one of his sets at Buku Music Festival this month.
