Providing a gallery space unique to many, the space that is WAAS Gallery is known for a multitude of good vibes, amazing energy and huge talent. The venue has been host to several independent art shows in the Dallas Metroplex and have maintained a solid and humble following. Featuring a two-story building accommodating for canvases large and small, as well as elaborately done art installations, it’s an undeniably warm environment. The generously open floor plan allows for crowds to flow freely in and out of rooms, while those in awe can hover over paintings as they please without a bother to anyone else. It’s easy to fall ‘in-like’ with this gallery fairly quickly. Throw in an open bar, a pretty rad skateboarding ramp, and one of the best metal bands in Dallas, Releaser, into the mix and you’ve got the best art show we’ve attended in a while.

ARTISTS WE LOVED: Viktor Ortix, aka Vive Arte. An artist ranging in mixed medias, from painting and collaging to his own method of screen printing, which consists of infusing his ink with actual Quartz crystals and other powerful minerals. This gives his finished pieces an energy to offer themselves.

His art is heavily influenced by his love of traveling, fondness of lost objects and shamanic practices. A self-described Lightworker, Viktor’s art transcends the initial physical attraction. It speaks to the viewer, and is received as medicine for the soul. Making art that allows you to feel good is a beautiful thing, and we appreciate that.
