Sometimes, you just feel lucky. Like when you find out that Badfish, the world’s greatest tribute to Sublime, is touring through your city this month. For me, that’s January 19 at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. For you, it is probably January 22nd at Empire Control Room in Austin, Texas. Maybe it is the 20th or 21st at the House of Blues in Houston or Dallas, respectively. Sublime is one of those bands everyone knows. They had the originality, the appeal– the raw energy and unbridled spirit to explode off of the West coast and conquer the world. Sadly, that was not to be. You know the story. But spirit cannot die. New England’s Badfish is proof. Badfish channel the spirit of Sublime so effectively, they have garnered the type of following often attributed to major label acts and pulled to them a tangible scene that follows them everywhere they go. Do not confuse Badfish with another Sublime cover band. Yes, the play Sublime’s music, which is common. Yes, they radiate that Sublime soul, which is rare. Beyond that, they are Badfish. And to see them is to see Sublime as they could have been, plus a little something extra. Snag your tickets here and we will see you on the dance floor.
