We always love a ‘giving back’ prospective in life, especially at music festivals. As consumers and human beings, our ecological footprint we leave on this Earth and how we spend our time here really impacts the future generations and health of human kind, but more importantly, the health of the place we call home. What’s extra special about Vertex, is that a portion of ticket sales will be used to support the launch of Vertex’s local philanthropic programs. This year, Vertex will be working with Chaffee County and the Town of Buena Vista to begin the development of a long-awaited community garden–‘YAY!’ for teaching people how to grow their own food! In addition, Vertex’s Music In Schools Program is partnering with Buena Vista’s public schools to help provide funding for their middle school and high school music departments. The money donated will help to pay for 2016-2017 Honor Band and Choir travel to competitions across the state and country, and to support the purchase of new band and choir performance uniforms.
