Kicking off the grooves this week is Lucid Vision, a multi-instrumentalist and producer out of Denver. With a new release, “Against The Odds”, dropping today, we thought it’d be a perfect time to showcase the EP.
With a solid fan base here in Colorado, listeners will be pleased and intrigued while taking in the new soundscapes Lucid Vision has dreamed up. “Against The Odds” is the crunchy and exhilarating title track that also incorporates mandolin courtesy of Toy Box. There’s some tropical vibes throughout as well, giving it a playful tone for the rest of the album to follow. “Looking Up To The Greats” features a melancholy vocal sample that intermingles with live guitar and more sonic beats from LV, while also giving a distinct electro-soul vibe. Next up, “The Blizzard” is an upbeat and hyphy production that sees a collaboration from Knowledge Thyself. This was our first introduction to Knowledge Thyself and hope to see a lot more of him this year! Lucid Vision has an ear for pairing hip hop and electronic melodies seamlessly, and this is one of our favorites from him so far. Ending the album, “Be Silent” encapsulates the tranquil yet creative state of mind Lucid Vision seeks to produce. Sounds from nature align themselves with the track’s glitchy bass lines and synths, and creates a perfect close to “Against The Odds”.
