#DroolMode: 4 Reasons We’re Stoked For Phases Of The Moon! | Oct 16th-18th, 2015

Join us in getting our Mulberry Mountain fix with this year’s Phases of the Moon, taking place over October 16th – 18th in Ozark, Arkansas. Phases of the Moon Music Festival features some of the world’s most talented bluegrass, jam band and feel-good musicians with the 2nd annual grassroots fest bringing us huge acts from STS9 (Axe the Cables set), The Disco Biscuits, moe., Warren Haynes & The Ashes & Dust Band, Yonder Mountain String Band, Beats Antique, Leftover Salmon, Rusted Root,  Lettuce, Papadosio, Andy Frasco & The U.N., and many many more.

For real though, every single artist on the P.O.T.M. line-up is gold. Pure, dripping, shining, instrument-filled GOLD. Phases of the Moon is going to be special for many reasons. Here’s what we’re most looking forward to:

The Line-Up

As mentioned above, the line-up for this festival is unlike ANY line-up we have seen. Every single musician on the roster features live bands ranging in style from organic live-tronic to blue grass to rock n rock to funk to straight jam to YOU NAME IT! Phases surprised us even more with the additions of some incredible acts: Warren Haynes & The Ashes & Dust Band, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Birdcloud, Blaine Cartwright and The Dropper. Warren Haynes has paved his award-winning way by being a staple in three of rock and roll’s greatest live acts- The Dead, Gov’t Mule and The Allman Brothers Band. Karl Denson has collaborated with many artists and is currently playing with dub rockers Slightly Stoopid, who have graced Mulberry Mountain on multiple occasions. Him and his Tiny Universe are sure to be a saxy sight to behold. We are beyond stoked on the talent and additions to the line-up!

The Magic of Mulberry Mountain

If you have ever attended a festival at this magical location, you know that Mulberry is a sacred and magical place. I experienced my first camping music festival here in 2010 at Wakarusa, and my life has never been the same. Mulberry is the one place I won’t miss out on and when I heard about Phases, my heart almost burst through my chest. I have only been to the mountain in the Summer, so being there during October only means one thing: perfect weather. Right in the middle of the Ozark forest, Mulberry in October will offer, what I only assume, will be “comfortable” camping for all range of campers. With low’s around 50 degrees and highs around 80 degrees, you seriously cannot find better weather for both camping and festival’ing.

The Sanctuary, Art & More

The Sanctuary is a space provided at Phases that is something I have not seen or heard of a festival doing before. The Sanctuary will offer the Phases family an oasis for relaxation, rejuvenation and inspiration. Instructors and healers will be providing yoga, workshops, massage, sound healing, qi-gong, meditation and much more in a co-created immersive environment integrating visionary art and scared geometry. We cannot wait to see it and interact in The Sanctuary. Art of all kinds can be expected at P.O.T.M.. From larger interactive pieces and sculptures to live, in-the-moment art to interpretative creations and just plain never before seen awe-inspiring visuals! A variety of performance troops and artists will be winding their way through the festival grounds as well, making friends and smiles throughout their journey. Additional activities offered at Phases are hiking (there are a few different waterfalls nearby), disc golf, the Crescent Moon Kids Camp, a Phases Farmers Market, world-class food and craft vendors & the Non-Profit Village.

The Name and Why It Matters

Phases of the Moon is a unique festival name and it definitely makes you think of one thing – the Moon. During the fest, the moon will be in transitioning into a waxing crescent. This phase of the moon is seen for only one to a few days after the new moon. For those who believe in the power of the moon (I know I sure do), this “regeneration” phase revolves around attracting energy and gearing up for the full moon. It is a time for new beginnings, bringing ideas into fruition and to invoke positive change.

With all that’s offered at Phases, this is an ideal moon phase, time and place to rid yourself of negativity, meet new friends, regenerate your soul, body and mind, fortify your goals and self and most importantly, hear some damn good music and DANCE.

Tickets for Phases of the Moon can be found at their official website, here, and you can keep updated on
