KAYTRANADA, yes all capitals, is one of the most talked about names on the electronic bass scene right now. The Montreal beat maker, whose real name is Kevin Celestin, first blew up when he put his own spin to Janet Jackson’s ‘If’, creating an upbeat and irresistibly grooving track. Like the flames of a wild fire, KAYTRANADA became the name on everyone’s lips, and is being regarded as the Next Big Thing. The set he played in Denver no doubt gained him a new solid following, and we definitely foresee him making plenty more rounds in the States throughout 2015. Combining the best elements of sensual R&B and downtempo bass, it’s easy to see why we can’t get enough of KAYTRANADA’s fresh sound.
